JOHN DAVIS
John was commissioned by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend to produce images for a book detailing the first ten years of THE WHO entitled 'A Decade of the WHO'.
John was tragically killed in a car crash in 2006 and left all of his work to his friend. These startling vivid images are a testament to the talent of Davis and to THE WHO, as he was inspired to create his first local exhibition of paintings based around Pete Townsend's aural images from 'Tommy'.
It was at this exhibition that John met Roger Daltrey and subsequently Pete Townsend, who, mutually inspired by his visual interpretations of their work, commissioned him to produce these fantastic images.
Now for the first time these 45 historic paintings are to be exhibited as one, with a subsequent auction so that fans of both John's and THE WHO's work can own and admire these works of art.
The images on the left can never truly convey the detail and colour of John Davis' exceptional imagery and so The Fame Bureau urge interested parties to attend the previews.
