John Lennon Artwork WWIII A stunning Peace Campaign Banner entitled WWIII by John Lennon. Created on a projection screen, the Banner showing a drawing of a heart with a cut out heart in the centre surrounded by one hand in each corner one bearing a club one bearing a sword another a gun and the fourth holding a flower all aimed at the heart. Entirely painted in Lennon's hand and signed boldly across the painting John Lennon. The origin of this piece began in the Apple offices in the presence of Billy Preston for whom John originally intended to draw for. He ended up drawing this item to placate an irate artist who entered the building and began insulting John. With all the commotion going on and Mal Evans forced to eject the irate artist Billy and John Lennon disappeared and the banner was placed and displayed upstairs in the building until deemed a fire risk by Neil Aspinall who gave it to the original owner. The Banner measures approx. 45x42 inches . (This Banner comes with a cigar box that was presented with the banner bearing the receipt written on the outside lid which states "John £350.00 cash received with thanks . The Coronas are for you! Not to be opened until the birth of rock n roll. Barry (I Think I've been had) Smith.). 3 Letters of authenticity accompany the banner including a letter from the first owner, the Apple employee who worked with Magic Alex as well as the cigar box-receipt.
